  • How do credits work?

    Every back-and-forth interaction costs API fees, which are passed along as credits. You can see the exact credit cost before running anything. The key difference from paid AI platforms is you'll never be rate-limited or shut down mid-session.

  • Have credit costs changed from 1.0 to 2.0?

    Yes, significantly lower! Tony built in actual API cost monitoring and discovered costs were much lower than what was being charged to us in 1.0. 

    Example: the Non-Fiction Ghostwriter went from a minimum of 100 credits down to a min. of 40.

  • How are book-writing apps charged?

    Credit cost is now generative based on how many chapters you actually output. If you write 12 chapters instead of 20, you're only charged for 12.

  • What is one credit worth?

    Approximately 10 cents. One credit is the minimum charge per app run. (This has not changed from EMAI 1.0)

  • What are the credit top-up options?

    Starter (250 credits/$25)

    Feeder (500 credits/$42.50, ~10% off)

    Power (1,000 credits/25% off)

    And the new Mega (2,500 credits/30% off)

  • Are credits shared between the main app suite and premium apps?

    No. The main EMAI App Suite uses credits, while separate Premium Apps (StoryForge, Oracle Generator) are based on a per-project allotment (e.g., 5 graphic novels per month).

    And YES you get a FREE subscription to these two Premium Apps, plus the currently-in-development BookFlow app!

  • Will there be an auto top-up feature for credits?

    We're working on adding this right now!

  • Can I cancel my paid AI subscriptions and just use EMAI Chat?

    Essentially yes. EMAI's AI Chat Playground gives you access to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and multiple image models all in one place for just the API credit cost... with no limits on how much you can generate. (AKA: You won't get locked out for creating too much!)

  • What models are available in AI Chat?

    Text: GPT 5.2, Gemini 3 Pro, Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6. 

    Image: Imagen, Nano Banana 2/2.5/3, GPT Image 1/1.5, Flux, Ideogram.

  • Can I switch between models in the same chat?

    Yes. You can brainstorm with ChatGPT, switch to Claude for copywriting, then switch to an image model for graphics... all in one continuous chat stream with memory!

  • Does AI Chat have memory across models?

    Yes. It references back 50 text interactions and about 10 image usages across any models used in that chat stream.

  • When a model gets retired, what happens to my projects using that model?

    Your chat history stays. You just switch to whatever the latest model is and continue from there.

  • Do the different AI bots/models remember previous chats, or are they all independent?

    Inside the same chat stream, they're all linked. You can go back and forth between models and they reference each other's outputs.

  • Can I tie EMAI Chat into my own AI accounts (e.g., my trained ChatGPT)?

    No, platforms don't work that way. But you can ask ChatGPT or Claude to create an extensive summary of your history and memory, then import that into EMAI's Memory Vault.

  • What are the two new plans?

    Creator (100 credits/month)

    Builder (200 credits/month plus access to the App Builder & other features)

  • How do I get grandfathered into the Builder plan?

    Be an existing EMAI (ExpertMediaAI) member or sign up before midnight Pacific time, Friday March 20th. You'll get the Builder plan at the current Creator pricing, locked in for life.*

    *Cancellation of any subscription plan forfeits that rate. If you rejoin you'll join at the current market rate.

  • How do I check what plan I'm currently on?

    Log into EMAI 1.0, click on your account, and your plan info is there. But it doesn't really matter, everyone is being moved to the Builder plan.

    The rate you're currently paying will ONLY change if you're on one of the old Silver or Gold plans (the rate will go down).

    • MIGRATION (1.0 → 2.0)

  • When is the migration happening?

    Starting over THIS weekend, with current members starting to get access Monday or Tuesday of next week. (March 23rd, on.)

  • Do I need to activate my EMAI 1.0 account before migration?

    No. If you're brand new and just signed up, your info is in the pending system. You don't need to activate 1.0, you'll still get migrated.

  • Will I need a new password?

    Yes. Due to privacy laws, passwords can't be transferred. You'll receive an email with instructions and a secure link to set a new password.

  • Will my credits from 1.0 transfer to 2.0?

    Yes! Whatever credits you have in 1.0 will be added to your 2.0 account.

  • A short heading for the start of a new group or the heading for the FAQ

    This is the answer to the FAQ. Make sure to keep it brief and possible use basic formatting like bold or underline. If you use links be sure to have them open to a new page

  • What happens if I'm on an old Silver or Gold plan?

    Your plan will be reduced to Bronze pricing (lower payments), and all remaining credits through your renewal date will be front-loaded into your 2.0 account.

    For example, 500 credits/month with 6 months remaining on an annual plan = 3,000 credits loaded at once.

  • Is there a button to export all my history from 1.0?

    Unfortunately no. You need to manually go into each app run and use the export/save/copy options. Tony is trying to get a database export from the dev team but can't guarantee it.

  • How long do I have to download my 1.0 history?

    Through the end of March. The entire 1.0 platform is being shut down permanently after that.

  • Will I get any bonus for the migration?

    es, everyone gets an extra 100 credits added to their 2.0 account!

  • Why were Oracle cards and graphic novels removed from the main suite?

    They were rebuilt as standalone premium apps (StoryForge and Oracle Card Generator) that are much more robust and streamlined... everything start-to-finish in one window instead of bouncing between 4-5 different apps.

    They also serve different niche markets than the primary EMAI App Suite, so they have value as stand-alone purchases.

  • Do I get free access to the premium apps?

    If you're grandfathered in (current member or sign-up by Friday midnight Pacific time), YES! Free subscription access to StoryForge, Oracle Card Generator, and BookFlow (when it launches). This doesn't include extra generation costs if you exceed your monthly allotment.

  • How many projects do I get with the premium apps?

    StoryForge: 5 graphic novel projects per month.

    Oracle Card Generator: similar per-project allotment.

    BookFlow: undetermined

    These don't roll over.

  • How does StoryForge maintain character consistency across panels?

    That's part of the "secret sauce" Tony built into the app. :)

  • Will future premium apps also be free?

    No. Only the three announced (StoryForge, Oracle Generator, BookFlow) are included for grandfathered members. Future premium apps will be separate subscriptions.

  • Can you pull RAG documents from Obsidian, Notion, or NotebookLM?

    Not currently, but it's a great idea and added to our list to implement in the future. Right now you can upload documents manually.

  • Can you reference a book for a writing style?

    Be careful - this should be your own intellectual property. The AI now pulls exact phrases from style references, so you want to use your own writing samples.

  • Does EMAI 2.0 have auto-save?

    Yes. All apps auto-save* along the way, which wasn't the case in 1.0 where it could hang up and lose everything.

    *An active internet connection is required for auto-save function to work properly.

  • Is there a way to publish directly to WordPress, Medium, or Google Docs?

    Not yet, but it's built into the interface and planned for a future update. You'll be able to sync accounts in your settings and export content to those platforms with one click.

  • Will video generation be part of EMAI?

    No. Video (like VEO 3) will be a completely separate platform. EMAI is staying focused on text, image, and creative product tools to avoid becoming overwhelming.

  • Can I use the Young Adult Fiction Writer for adult fiction?

    Yes, it works for adult fiction too! It just won't do NSFW content. Using writing styles helps tailor the output for unique grown-up audiences.

    • APP BUILDER

  • How does the App Builder differ from Lovable?

    Both are app-building tools, but EMAI's App Builder is designed specifically for creative projects. It's more like "I wish there was an app for this specific creative need" rather than building general-purpose software.

  • Could I use the Builder for my customized GPT instructions?

    Yes, essentially. The App Builder is much more comprehensive than custom GPTs, giving you far more options and control.

    That said, while Kristen was creating this Replay page & FAQ, Tony built in a Projects feature inside the AI Chat Playground that works exactly like Custom GPTs and Claude Projects!

  • Can I use the apps I create outside of the EMAI platform?

    Almost! A future iframe embed feature is planned that would let you host apps on external websites while keeping billing connected to EMAI.

    An auto top-up credit payment system will be required to use this feature.

  • Can other people see or use my custom apps?

    No. Custom apps are private under "My Apps." A future marketplace is planned where you could sell your apps to other members.

  • Are courses part of EMAI?

    No. EMAI is the software/app suite. Courses live at ExpertMediaAcademy.com under the full course catalog or under the "Courses" menu. They're separate platforms.

  • Where do I go for support?

    ExpertMediaAcademy.com → Help/Support. Submit a ticket. Kristen is personally handling EMAI/migration questions with a priority turnaround.

  • Will there be demo videos for all the new apps?

    Yes, Tony will be recording them over the coming days/weeks. They'll live in the Learning Center under each app's respective suite. Also planning to include step-by-step screenshot documents and downloadable Project Guides alongside videos.
